i feel nervous about germs. this might seem funny to you since i ouilli have a struggle to not eat garbage.  but i really am afraid of getting sick.

my mom says that i have an incredibly strong immune system because i eat garbage.  she feels that that the germs make me stronger but i still feeeeel worried.

i need more evidence.

[UPDATE: This is a link — I hope — to a song that Owen recently co-wrote, with Brian Laidlaw, his new teacher – called the CoVid Blues]

[Owen uses supported communication. As he practices with his support people, he is gaining more and more control of his disobedient muscles, more and more independence at the keyboard.  I compare the process to what a person recovering from a stroke might go through, recovering the connection between brain and body..  This piece is entirely his work, as he wants you to see it. — Wystan]

    Dear Owen,
I always love to read your thoughts. Thank you for the work it is you do that allows us to read some of your thoughts. This time what you wrote made me think about worry and evidence. In me I have two boxes that don’t attach. The one box has certain worries in it and the other has evidence in it. If a certain worry takes hold, all the evidence in the other box doesn’t make the worry go away. However there are other worries that evidence eliminates! I never noticed the difference before.
Have you gotten sick from eating garbage?
    Your friend,
    Gray

This is Mama answering for the moment — Owen is out — if you already read Owen’s post, you might want to swing back through it, because after some sweat I figured out how to attach an audio file of Owen’s song, co-written w his new Boulder, CO based teacher, called The CoVid Blues…

Hi Owen, Thanks for writing about your fear of germs. I’m afraid of germs too. If you have a good immune system, you would know it’s working because you don’t get sick all the time. Love, Aunt Kay
